The McFarland Greater Chamber of Commerce is committed to assisting positive economic growth for our community.  Our purpose is to promote business and economic well-being of our diverse community to benefit all enterprises, big and small, through advocacy, services and education, business exposure, and promotional opportunities.

Our Mission

The mission of the McFarland Greater Chamber of Commerce is to promote, develop, and assist businesses to succeed.  “The Chamber is the Voice of Business.  The Chamber represents the community’s profile.”

 

Our purpose is to foster an appreciation of the importance of local businesses and their concerns.  We are working to promote local business development through economic programs designed to strengthen and expand the income potential of all businesses in McFarland.

Members will be provided a plaque for display in your business.

Ribbon Cutting, Groundbreaking and Mixers

 A Ribbon cutting or groundbreaking event is an important part of the overall marketing and advertising plan, and is a great way to kick-off the Grand Opening of a business.

The event provides an avenue to market your company to many business individuals who may not have otherwise visited your business.  The event also offers an opportunity to meet key leaders in the community.

As a McFarland Greater Chamber of Commerce member, your business is eligible for  FREE Ribbon Cutting or Groundbreaking event when:

  •  Is a new member of the Chamber

  • Opened its doors in the last 6 months

  • Changed Ownership / Under New Management

  • Has expanded or remodeled

  • Moved to a new location

What you Need to Do

Be present on the agreed date and time and be prepared to meet your invited guests.  If you need to change or cancel, please contact the Chamber as far in advance as possible at least one week.

We encourage you to invite clients, vendors, business associates, neighbors, friends and family.

The host decides to provide light refreshments, door prizes, certificates/coupons, however, that is completely up to you.

What the Chamber Does

  • Invites the Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, McFarland City Council and Staff.

  • Invitation via email will be sent to business members who belong to the Chamber, and the McFarland Press.

  • A community event calendar is created on the Chamber Facebook page and for the public to view with your permission.

  • Provide ribbon, photo taker, certificate, scissors for a Ribbon Cutting ceremony or shovels for a ground breaking ceremony.

  • Provides Mayor and Chamber Representatives to officer a congratulatory speech.

  • Publish a photograph of the ceremony with your company name in the Chamber’s webpage.

The ribbon cutting ceremony is a relatively short.  Be sure to plan your onsite location of where your ribbon cutting and photos will take place, and be prepared to say a few words and address your audience.
