Retired-Administrative Assistant for Shafter-Wasco Irrigation District

Alicia Conde is a retiree from a Water Distribution District from Shafter-Wasco Irrigation District. She worked as an Administrative Assistant for 26 years and the District’s Compliance Specialist for the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation under Reclamation Law. Prior to that she worked as a Customer Service Rep. II for a Savings & Loan Bank, she then was a Police Dispatcher for Shafter Police Department and McFarland Police Department. She knows what it takes to get a business started as she did with her business partners in Wasco, CA at A & P Diesel Electric. Alicia has enjoyed volunteering activities with the McFarland Lions Club as a Director and her position as Secretary for the Chamber of Commerce has been a very rewarding experience working with a great chamber team of directors and servicing our community and businesses.

Assistant City Manager-City of Wasco

Maria Lara has over twelve years of professional experience in private, local and state government, she has held various roles such as Assistant City Manager, City Manager, Community Development Director, Grant Director and Small Business Owner. Maria’s professional experience includes working for the City of Wasco, City of McFarland, Idaho Housing and Finance Association and private sector. Lara has secured, managed and implemented more than $30 million in state, federal and local grant funding to assist small businesses, repair roads, construct new sidewalks, new parks, new animal shelter, hire new police officers, and new housing.

Maria Lara holds a master’s degree in Criminal Justice from Boise State University, Boise, Idaho, as well as dual Bachelor’s degrees in Criminal Justice and Spanish from Boise State. Lara’s accomplishments are built upon a strong foundation. Her more than a decade professional field experience speak volumes regarding her strong understanding of government and its function.

I am honored to be part of the McFarland Greater Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, who is dedicated to serve and promote the interests of our small businesses. Small businesses need resources to face today’s ever-changing economy, to promote their goods and services. The Chamber is here to serve and help small business owners and entrepreneurs pursue the American dream.

Founding and Senior Pastor – CrossPointe Baptist Church of McFarland

Pastor Bobby is the Founding and Senior Pastor of CrossPointe Baptist Church of McFarland. He attended Baptist Bible College and Theological Seminary in Springfield, Missouri, has taken graduate course work through Liberty University and was approved as a church-planter through the BBFI APEX Assessment. Bobby was born in Fresno and raised in Selma, California before moving to Northwest Arkansas and returning to the Golden State and the Central San Joaquin Valley in 2001. He has been in ministry for over 20 years with experience in Arkansas, Missouri, and California as well as having a background in law-enforcement and athletics. He is passionate about evangelism and serving the McFarland community where he lives. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of the McFarland Greater Chamber of Commerce and the Bakersfield Pregnancy Center. Bobby and his wife Alejandra have one daughter (Victoria) who is currently attending college. Pastor Bobby enjoys spending time with his family, watching college and pro football and basketball, spending time at the Central and Southern California coast, traveling, and is an avid die-hard Fresno State Bulldogs fan.
